The US sanctioned seven companies based in Iran, the UAE, and Turkey.
The US State Department announced on Wednesday, April 30, that it has imposed sanctions on seven companies linked to the sale of Iranian oil and petrochemical products. This comes as nuclear negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the US are ongoing, with the fourth round of talks scheduled to take place on Saturday in Rome, the capital of Italy.
In a statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared that as long as Iran attempts to generate revenue through the sale of oil and petrochemical products for its destabilizing activities and support for terrorism and its proxy groups, the United States will take steps to hold Iran and all its partners involved in circumventing sanctions accountable.
According to the US State Department’s statement, the companies Keyhan Sanjesh Azma based in Tehran, Kimpas Kimyevi Maddeler Pazarlama Ticaret ve Sanayii based in Turkey, and five companies based in the United Arab Emirates have been sanctioned.
