India and Pakistan Agree on Troop Withdrawal from Border Area

India and Pakistan agreed on the withdrawal of forces from the border area.

According to Agence France-Presse, citing a Pakistani security official, India and Pakistan agreed to withdraw forces from the border area by the end of May, which corresponds to the 9th of Khordad in the Iranian calendar.

These forces had been deployed in the region during recent clashes between these two nuclear neighbors.

This four-day conflict began following an attack on tourists by armed individuals in Indian-controlled Kashmir last month, resulting in more than 70 deaths.

India accuses Pakistan of supporting these armed individuals, while Islamabad considers these accusations to be baseless.
