Grossi: Enriched uranium is likely stored at an ancient site near Isfahan

Grossi says enriched uranium is likely being stored at an ancient site near Isfahan.

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, told Fox News that the agency does not know where this shipment is located.

Previously, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency claimed in a statement without evidence that 408 kilograms (900 pounds) of likely enriched uranium had been moved to an ancient site near Isfahan.

On Tuesday, Grossi, speaking on Fox News, referred to U.S. military attacks on three key nuclear sites in Iran and said that Iranian officials have stated that nearly 900 pounds (408 kilograms) of likely enriched uranium was moved for protective measures before the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Fox anchor Martha MacCallum asked Grossi about a previous statement in which he said he believed 900 pounds of likely enriched uranium had been moved to an ancient site near Isfahan, and Grossi said, ‘I have to be very precise. We are the International Atomic Energy Agency, so we do not speculate here.’

We have no information about the location of these materials.

He emphasized that Iranian officials have told him they are taking protective measures, which may or may not include moving the materials.

After the remarks by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency were made public, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the former Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, wrote on his X account that after Grossi participated in the killing of innocents with his baseless report, he is now paving the way for another crime with his reckless fantasy about the hiding of highly enriched uranium at world heritage sites in Isfahan.

These discussions are taking place while in recent days, American officials have denied any removal of enriched uranium from Iran’s nuclear sites, especially Fordow.
