Two people were arrested in Georgia on charges of selling uranium

The Georgian State Security Service announced that two individuals, including a Georgian citizen and a foreign national, were arrested on charges of possessing and attempting to sell uranium valued at $3 million, a substance that could be used in making a deadly bomb.

According to this agency, the suspects were identified and arrested at the port of Batumi while negotiating the sale of this radioactive material.

The discovered uranium has the capability to emit alpha and gamma rays and could have posed a serious threat if used militarily.

The suspects face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
