The US Ambassador to the UN: The Islamic Republic is at a critical juncture
Dorothy Shea, the US Ambassador to the UN, stated in a Security Council meeting that the Islamic Republic is at a critical juncture and must choose between continuing to violate nuclear commitments and support proxy groups or returning to meaningful diplomacy to end its weapons program.
Dorothy Shea warned that if the Islamic Republic continues on its current path, the US will persist with maximum diplomatic and economic pressure to curb any activities, such as attempts to acquire nuclear weapons, that threaten the security of US citizens, forces, and partners in the region.
The US Ambassador to the UN emphasized that the desirable path is for Tehran to return to its nuclear commitments and begin meaningful and timely diplomacy, adding that this is the only way for Iran and its people to achieve lasting peace and global integration.
