The new UK law will ban the sale of energy drinks to children under 16 years old.
The UK government intends to introduce a new law in England that will ban the sale of energy drinks like Red Bull, Monster, and Prime Energy to individuals under 16 years old. This ban will include sales in stores, restaurants, cafes, vending machines, and online purchases.
Experts say these drinks typically contain high levels of caffeine, and since teenagers’ bodies are smaller and their brains are still developing, they are more sensitive to caffeine.
Some stores and supermarkets already do not sell these products to children, but research shows that about one-third of British children consume such drinks every week.
Previous governments had also proposed plans to ban the sale of these drinks to children, but now this idea has been brought back into consideration.
