Mostafa Kavakebian Apologizes for His Remarks About Catherine Shakdam

Mostafa Kavakebian apologizes for his remarks about Catherine Shakdam

Mostafa Kavakebian, a former Iranian parliament member, apologized in an interview with the Tabnak news site for his comments regarding Catherine Shakdam’s sexual relations with some high-ranking Iranian officials.

He emphasized, however, that there is no doubt she was a spy.

In a television panel discussion this July about Israeli intelligence infiltration in Iran, Mr. Kavakebian accused Ms. Shakdam of infiltrating the system during her visits to Iran through sexual relations with 120 very important individuals of the Islamic Republic.

The public relations department of IRIB called his statements false and fabricated.

This former Iranian parliament member was found guilty in the press court on charges of spreading immorality, publishing lies, and disseminating false news regarding Catherine Shakdam’s sexual relations.

Ms. Shakdam traveled to Iran from 2015 to 2018 and wrote articles for some government media, including websites of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.

She also interviewed Ebrahim Raisi, who was a presidential candidate at the time.
