Putin conveyed Israel’s message to Iran
The Russian President says he has received messages from Israeli leadership asking Moscow to convey to Iranian officials that Israel is committed to avoiding confrontation with Iran.
On Thursday, Vladimir Putin stated during his speech at the Central Asia and Russia summit in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, that Moscow is in close contact with Tehran to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue.
According to Interfax, the Russian President said he receives related messages from Israel and conveys these messages to the Iranian leadership.
Mr. Putin emphasized that issues surrounding the Iranian nuclear matter can only be resolved through diplomacy and negotiation.
He added that Iranian officials are committed to mutually acceptable solutions and the resumption of constructive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The Russian President noted that Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, who recently visited Russia, has discussed the Iranian nuclear issue with the Kremlin.
