Nateq Nouri: The occupation of the US embassy was a big mistake
Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri, the former Speaker of the Parliament and advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, said in an interview with Eco Iran that the occupation of the US embassy as a ‘den of espionage’ was a big mistake and many problems started from that point.
Nateq Nouri also referred to several other embassies, adding that the attacks on the Saudi Arabian and British embassies, the destruction of premises, and similar actions were also absolute mistakes, and the consequences of these actions still affect the country.
He also touched on the issue of the nuclear program, stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran is in no way pursuing nuclear weapons.
The International Atomic Energy Agency has continuously monitored the enrichment sites and has even visited some of our university laboratories. It is completely clear that we are not seeking to build an atomic bomb.
Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri has been serving as an advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran since June 2000 and was a member of the Expediency Discernment Council until 2016.
