Bloomberg: China has significantly increased its oil imports from Iran
Bloomberg News, in a report published on Wednesday, wrote that based on obtained information, China is increasing its imports of oil shipments from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Two supertankers carrying Iranian oil, which had been waiting near China’s shores, unloaded their cargo at Chinese ports this week.
According to this report, after Beijing announced new oil import quotas late last month, China’s private refineries increased their intake of Iranian oil from coastal storage tanks and tankers waiting at sea.
Bloomberg, quoting informed sources, wrote that several refineries in China’s Shandong province this week extracted crude oil from storage tanks at customs ports and refineries where Iranian oil had previously arrived. They said a large portion of this oil was purchased before the allocation of the new quotas.
