Media: New US Drones Are Modeled After Iranian Shahed Drone Technology

Media reports suggest that the new American drones have been modeled after the Iranian Shahed drone technology.

The United States Central Command, CENTCOM, has announced the formation of a new unit that will operationalize the first squadron of one-way suicide attack drones of the U.S. military in the Middle East.

Some international media outlets claim that the design of these drones is modeled after the technology of a similar Iranian version.

CENTCOM states that the Scorpion Strike unit was formed four months after U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ordered the acceleration of acquiring and deploying cost-effective drone technology.

This force is designed to quickly provide low-cost and effective drone capabilities in warfare.

This unit currently possesses a squadron of low-cost attack drones known as Lucas, which are currently stationed in the Middle East.

CNN, citing an unnamed U.S. defense official, reported that the Lucas drones were built after reverse engineering a Shahed drone from Iran that the U.S. had captured a few years ago.
