Unfortunately, the current generation does not accept reformism.
Behzad Nabavi, speaking on Thursday at the first Congress of the Covenant of Iran, said, ‘I am not a speaker like Mr. Mohammad Javad Zarif and Ali Bagheri. I want to mention four topics, but I will forget three of them, so I am forced to read from the text I wrote. No one should think that I have been given a script.’
Nabavi stated, ‘I have come to the conclusion today that revolution is not a good thing. In 1997, when we were students of Seyyed Mohammad Khatami, they called us reformists. We didn’t know what reformist meant, but gradually we understood its concept.’
He added, ‘In any case, the reformism we pursued at that time was a peaceful legal movement within the framework of the existing system.’
Nabavi emphasized, ‘It is quite clear that no system would hold a referendum to overthrow itself, and I have not seen such cases anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, the current generation does not accept reformism, but today I am a politician committed to reformism in the direction of creating agreement.’
