Ali Larijani rejected the zero enrichment plan and negotiations on missile capabilities
Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, said that in the previous round of negotiations with the United States, the idea of zero enrichment was neither proposed nor does it make sense to tell a country with technology to cancel enrichment.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, he emphasized that Iran only negotiates on the nuclear issue and added that any other subject could disrupt the negotiation process.
Larijani also clarified that the missile issue is not related to the negotiations, and it will not be discussed in these talks. This is while Donald Trump has repeatedly stated Iran’s missile range as one of his conditions for negotiation.
Regarding the purpose of the negotiations, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran said that Mr. Trump has announced that the goal of the negotiations is to prevent Iran from moving towards nuclear weapons. This is a subject that Iran agrees with, and we are ready to negotiate about it.
In response to the possibility of war between Iran and the United States, he also stated that with past experience, I doubt the other side will pursue war again.
