The CBS site reported that Trump consulted about the timing of an attack on Iran but has not made a final decision.
Senior U.S. national security officials have told Donald Trump that the country’s military will be ready for a possible attack on Iran starting early next Saturday, but the timing of any military action may be postponed to the following days.
These officials, who spoke to CBS on the condition of anonymity, emphasized that the U.S. President has not yet made a final decision.
According to these sources, consultations continue in the White House, and the U.S. government is assessing the risk of escalating tensions, the political and military consequences of a potential action, as well as the implications of not attacking.
Meanwhile, several U.S. officials have announced that the United States Department of Defense will temporarily withdraw some of its forces from the Middle East within the next three days, mainly relocating them to Europe and the U.S. mainland.
This relocation is happening on the brink of a potential military operation or retaliatory attacks by Iran if Washington takes action. However, one source emphasized that the transfer of equipment and forces is a routine procedure before any potential U.S. military activity and does not necessarily mean an attack is imminent.
