Baqaei: We have not yet entered the stage of drafting inspection guidelines for damaged nuclear facilities

Baqaii: We have not yet entered the stage of drafting an inspection protocol for damaged nuclear sites.

Ismail Baqaii, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, in response to the topic of inspectors visiting nuclear facilities that have been attacked, said this issue is being discussed between us and the Agency, and it fundamentally requires an agreement on a specific protocol. A protocol that should be drafted considering all aspects, including the law passed by the Parliament and the procedures anticipated in this law.

Referring to the ongoing interactions, he added, currently, we are not at this stage, although our cooperation with the Agency and exchanges and contacts are continuously ongoing.

While the International Atomic Energy Agency and some Western countries are seeking access to Iran’s bombed nuclear sites, Tehran emphasizes that there is no specific protocol for visiting the damaged facilities, as Iranian officials state that there is no precedent for attacks on nuclear sites.
