Pentagon: The War with Iran Has Cost $29 Billion So Far

The Pentagon’s war with Iran has cost $29 billion so far

A senior Pentagon official announced that the cost of America’s war with Iran has reached $29 billion so far.

According to Reuters, this figure shows an increase of four billion dollars compared to the previous estimate by the U.S. Department of Defense in late April.

Jules Hurst, the acting Pentagon auditor, said the new estimate includes the costs of repairing and replacing military equipment as well as operational expenses.

He emphasized that U.S. military and auditing teams are still reviewing these estimates.

Reuters wrote that as the U.S. congressional midterm elections approach, Democrats are trying to link the war expenses to the rising economic pressure and cost of living.

It was previously reported that just the first six days of the war cost the U.S. more than $11 billion.
