IRNA: Qalibaf and Araqchi went to Qatar to assess the U.S. willingness
The IRNA news agency reported that the visit of Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Parliament, and Abbas Araqchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, to Qatar was aimed at assessing the U.S. willingness to enter result-oriented negotiations.
According to the report, Qatar has played a more prominent role in recent weeks in the process related to a potential agreement to end the war, and part of the potential U.S. commitments are to be implemented with Doha’s assistance.
IRNA wrote that this visit was made to ensure Qatar’s readiness to cooperate in areas related to U.S. commitments.
The report also emphasized that negotiations with the U.S. are taking place in an atmosphere of distrust and suspicion, and verifying the steps related to ending the war will be one of the main prerequisites for entering the formal process of signing the agreement and starting negotiations.
According to the IRNA report, Qalibaf and Araqchi will meet with Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, in Doha.
