Basant threatened Oman regarding the collection of tolls in the Strait of Hormuz
Scott Basant, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, warned that Washington will aggressively target any party involved in collecting tolls for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
He wrote on the X network that any partner or entity participating in implementing a toll collection system in the Strait of Hormuz will face sanctions and penalties.
This warning came a day after Donald Trump also threatened Oman over a potential attempt to control the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump had said that the Strait of Hormuz is an international waterway, and Oman will act like everyone else, otherwise we will have to destroy them.
