Confidential Report by International Atomic Energy Agency: Lack of Access to Iran's Facilities is Concerning

The confidential report of the International Atomic Energy Agency states that the lack of access to Iran’s facilities is concerning.

The International Atomic Energy Agency, in a confidential report, announced that the agency’s inability to verify Iran’s nuclear activities and materials has raised serious concerns about nuclear proliferation.

According to the French news agency, the IAEA, in this report, has asked the Islamic Republic to resume cooperation and constructive interaction with the agency’s inspectors for full implementation of nuclear safeguards.

The IAEA report states that since the military attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, inspectors’ access to some key centers has been limited, creating an unprecedented situation.

This UN-affiliated agency has warned that the lack of access to nuclear sites and the inability to verify the level of uranium enrichment over nearly the past year is concerning from the perspective of nuclear safeguards.

The agency also emphasized that the possibility of monitoring and verifying nuclear activities in Iran must be obtained without delay.

This report is scheduled to be reviewed next week at the meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Before the US attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the agency estimated that Tehran had about 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent, a level that is close to the enrichment needed for producing nuclear weapons.
