Trump: We will obtain Iran’s enriched uranium through agreement or by force
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, said that Washington will assist in the transfer and destruction of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles if an agreement is reached with Iran, and otherwise, it will resort to military options.
In an interview with NBC, Trump said, ‘We will do this with or without them,’ and added that if necessary, the United States would first use very severe military action to remove these stockpiles from Iran’s reach.
He also claimed that the United States is fully monitoring Iran’s activities and said, ‘The entire area is under the watch of our cameras.’
At the same time, the U.S. President emphasized that Tehran and Washington are close to reaching an agreement and claimed that Iran has accepted not to acquire nuclear weapons.
Referring to the proposed agreement text, Trump said he wants more guarantees to ensure that Iran not only does not produce nuclear weapons but also will not have the possibility to purchase or acquire them.
These remarks are made as the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency meeting is set to begin in Vienna on Monday, and the United States has simultaneously presented a draft resolution requiring Iran to provide detailed information about its enriched uranium stockpiles and damaged nuclear facilities.
