France and Germany say Iran has violated the temporary agreement with the USA

Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, and Friedrich Merz, the Chancellor of Germany, held Iran responsible for violating the temporary memorandum with the USA

Macron said on the sidelines of the NATO summit that Iran’s attacks on US military bases in the Persian Gulf region were a violation of the temporary agreement and that Tehran made a mistake by carrying out these attacks. However, he expressed hope that the planned talks within the framework of the 60-day ceasefire between Iran and the USA would continue

Merz also stated that European leaders have emphasized to Donald Trump that a sustainable agreement with Iran must be reached, but the responsibility for the latest violation of the temporary ceasefire lies with Iran

These statements were made after Trump announced that the recent memorandum and ceasefire with Iran, in his view, have ended and that the USA will again target Iran in its continued attacks
