Mike Huckabee: Israel had previously informed the US about a plot to assassinate Trump
Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to Israel, confirmed that Israel had previously informed Washington about a specific plan by the Islamic Republic to assassinate Donald Trump.
In an interview with Fox News, he also said he sees no meaningful sign of a peace-seeking faction within the Iranian government.
These remarks come as the Wall Street Journal reported that some American officials were concerned that Israel, by providing this information, was trying to encourage Washington to resume military attacks against Iran, a claim that the Israeli embassy in the US has denied.
At the same time, Donald Trump also warned, referring to threats attributed to Iran, that in the event of any attempt on his life, the US would respond with a massive attack on Iran.
