Trump’s claim: We will maintain full control of the Strait of Hormuz

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, once again claimed that the United States has full control of the Strait of Hormuz and added, ‘I think we will maintain it.’

Trump described the naval blockade of Iran as a steel wall and claimed that Tehran has no way to counter it. He also claimed that Iran no longer has an effective naval and air force, and that the forces of the Revolutionary Guards have been severely weakened.

These statements are made while Kepler’s data indicates a sharp decline in traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. In the week leading up to August 9, only 84 ships passed through this waterway, whereas before the war, more than 100 ships passed through the strait daily.
