Abbas Araghchi: We have not yet decided to resume negotiations with the United States
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that Tehran has not yet made a decision on restarting negotiations with the United States, and the ongoing contacts through intermediaries do not mean negotiation.
Araghchi told ISNA that Qatar and Pakistan are acting as intermediaries in communication with Iran, and messages are being exchanged between the parties, but these contacts do not mean negotiation at all.
He also spoke about the Islamabad agreement, stating that the emphasis in this agreement was on ending the war, not establishing a ceasefire. According to Araghchi, the United States violated this agreement, and the conflicts have started again, so there was no 60-day ceasefire that now needs to be extended.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also mentioned that previous communication channels with the United States are no longer effective, and Tehran is designing a temporary path for contact, which could later become a final route.
