Consultation between Bin Zayed and Trump on regional developments
Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, held a phone conversation with Donald Trump, the President of the USA, discussing regional developments and bilateral relations between Abu Dhabi and Washington.
The UAE’s state news agency WAM reported on Tuesday that during this call, the two sides reviewed various aspects of joint cooperation between the UAE and the USA and ways to expand it in line with the mutual interests of both countries.
Bin Zayed and Trump also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East and the efforts made concerning the regional situation.
This call took place under circumstances where, over the past week, three incidents involving Emirati ships in the Strait of Hormuz have been reported.
On Saturday morning, the WAM news agency, quoting the ADNOC company, announced that one of the company’s ships was attacked on Friday while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
ADNOC had previously announced that another ship affiliated with the company was hit by a missile on Saturday, August 8, while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
ADNOC is considered one of the world’s largest energy producers, exporting crude oil, natural gas, and petroleum products to global markets.
