Middle East Eye: Dozens of European bases supported the US operation against Iran
Middle East Eye has reported that from Diego Garcia to Bulgarian airbases, dozens of bases controlled or operated by European countries played a role in supporting the US operation against Iran during the 40-day war, while some European leaders have tried to distance themselves from the war in their public statements.
According to the report, the United Kingdom likely provided the most significant support among European countries for the US operation, with its facilities and bases playing a role in supporting the military operation.
France also allowed US support military aircraft to land at its bases.
Middle East Eye also wrote that Bulgaria, geographically separated from Iran only by Turkey, allowed Washington to use its military bases.
The media outlet wrote that these collaborations occurred at a time when the war faced opposition in European public opinion, and only a limited number of European leaders openly supported it.
