Oman’s Foreign Minister: Temporary Shipping Corridor in the Strait of Hormuz to be Announced Soon
Badr Al-Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, announced progress in negotiations regarding shipping security in the Strait of Hormuz after meeting with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister.
Al-Busaidi stated that the talks held with Araghchi were constructive and expressed hope that the details of establishing a temporary corridor for the resumption of safe shipping in the Strait of Hormuz would be announced soon.
According to the Omani Foreign Minister, this corridor will be established in coordination with Iran, and negotiations on the future management mechanism of the Strait of Hormuz and achieving a permanent solution will continue in line with Article 5 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Al-Busaidi also emphasized that Oman’s diplomatic consultations with Iran and other regional partners to strengthen peace and stability and ensure freedom of navigation continue.
