Netanyahu: We will not allow Turkey’s influence in southern Syria
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, said that the country will counter Turkey’s military influence expansion in Syria and will not allow Ankara to advance towards southern Syria. These statements come amid recent tensions between Israel and Turkey over Ankara’s military presence in Syria.
Netanyahu stated that Israel has established a security zone within Syrian territory to counter jihadist groups and added, ‘I do not want to see Turkey advancing southward.’
He also mentioned that this position has been communicated through the United States, other channels, and directly to Syrian officials, emphasizing that Israel will not allow Turkey to expand its presence beyond its current areas in Syria.
