UN Secretary-General Calls for an End to Nuclear Testing Worldwide

The UN Secretary-General called for an end to nuclear testing worldwide.

Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, urged nuclear-armed countries to adhere to halting nuclear tests and to pave the way for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty to come into force.

Guterres wrote on X that nuclear tests erode trust, fuel arms races, and expose communities already affected by past tests to further harm.

He called for a renewed global commitment to ending nuclear tests.
