Reuters: Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia discuss strengthening defense cooperation
The first meeting of the joint defense agreement committee between Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia will be held on Monday in Istanbul. Foreign and defense ministers, along with the chiefs of staff of the armed forces of the three countries, will be present at this meeting.
These three countries signed a joint defense agreement on August 7 in Mecca, aimed at strengthening defense and security cooperation and enhancing collective deterrence. According to one clause of this agreement, an armed attack on any one of the three countries will be considered an attack on all three parties.
According to Reuters, it is expected that officials from the three countries will discuss strengthening defense capabilities, increasing coordination among the armed forces, and expanding cooperation in the defense industries, including the joint production and development of equipment, at the Istanbul meeting.
