Pezeshkian: Relations with Moscow are not normal

Masoud Pezeshkian, in a meeting with Vladimir Putin, expressed gratitude for Russia’s stance during the US-Iran war and considered it a sign of the strategic relations between the two countries.

This meeting was held on Tuesday, August 31, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Putin, declaring Moscow’s solidarity with the Iranian people in their fight for national interests, emphasized maintaining and expanding the trade and economic relations between the two countries despite the current political and security conditions.

Pezeshkian also stated that Tehran-Moscow relations are not normal and have a strategic nature. He also called the US sanctions illegal and contrary to international laws and emphasized countering Washington’s unilateralism.
