Reports of a U.S. missile attack on an Iranian oil tanker near Kharg

Nournews, a media outlet close to the Iranian government, reported citing local sources that an Iranian oil tanker near Kharg Island was targeted by a missile attack from U.S. forces. This report has not yet been officially confirmed.

A reporter from Fars News Agency on Kharg Island also reported hearing several explosions from the direction of the Persian Gulf but mentioned that no signs of smoke were observed.

The Student News Agency also reported, citing local sources, that an Iranian oil tanker was targeted, and some Iranian media have reported that the evacuation of this tanker has begun.

Iranian officials have not yet released a statement regarding these reports.
