Rezai: America’s response to Iran’s 7 conditions is insufficient; ambiguities must be resolved

Major General Mohsen Rezai, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, said that over the past two months, the United States has sought Iran’s proposals through Pakistan, Qatar, and Iraq, and Tehran announced its seven conditions about two weeks ago. According to him, Iran has emphasized that until these conditions are met, the Strait of Hormuz will not be open to Americans, and no negotiations will take place. Rezai added that Washington has accepted some conditions, but parts of the response remain ambiguous and need clarification. He emphasized that we are no longer in the process of responding to the Americans; they have responded, and we consider their response insufficient. Rezai also stated that Iran’s management of the Strait of Hormuz is essential for the security of the Persian Gulf and said that the economic benefits of this waterway are not limited to transit fees. Controlling Hormuz is a major national asset.
