Last season’s champion of the Portuguese Premier League took a step towards defending its title on the night of the shining performance of its Iranian striker.

According to Tasnim News Agency, at the start of the new season of the Portuguese Premier League football competitions, early this Sunday morning, Porto, the defending champion, which had its Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi in the starting lineup, faced Marítimo at home and crushed the guest team with a 5-1 victory. Taremi scored Porto’s first and third goals in the 12th and 42nd minutes of the match.
