Babak Zanjani’s Crescent lawyer is trying to seize my client’s assets in Malaysia
Rasoul Kouhpaye Zadeh, the lawyer of Babak Zanjani, a major and controversial Iranian businessman, has reported Crescent Company’s efforts to halt and seize his client’s assets in Malaysia.
The Crescent case has been making headlines in Iran for more than two decades and was also one of the topics in the recent Iranian presidential election debates.
Mr. Kouhpaye Zadeh says the First Islamic Investment Bank (FIIB) in Malaysia belongs to Babak Zanjani, where the money from Mr. Zanjani’s oil deals and the oil company was deposited.
Mr. Kouhpaye Zadeh told Mehr News Agency that according to received reports, Crescent Petroleum Company intends to obtain a court order to seize the funds and reserves of the aforementioned bank to recover part of its claim in line with enforcing arbitration rulings against Iran.
Malaysian media have recently reported that Crescent Petroleum has focused its attention on the frozen assets at the First Islamic Investment Bank in Labuan, Malaysia.
