Bankipour, one of the designers of the Hijab bill, says that foreign nationals without hijab will be expelled from the country.
Amirhossein Bankipour, the representative of Isfahan in the Parliament, said on the Jahan Ara program on the Ofogh network that those who insist that Article 638 of the Islamic Penal Code suffices for penalizing lack of hijab should see that the maximum fine is 1.2 million tomans. Of course, the judge can also consider social deprivations. He added that in the new law on chastity and hijab, a distinction is made between ordinary people and celebrities in this regard. Any famous person who influences society, those who are in contact with foreign entities and have projects to break norms, as well as platforms that are used, will face heavier fines. We believe the focus should be on the source, and in this way, many problems will be solved. Bankipour continued, stating that the fine amounts in the chastity and hijab law have been determined with the consultation of various experts. The first stage fine is 3 million tomans, and initially, 15 million tomans is considered suspended, which if repeated the next day or a few days later, both the 1.5 million and the next 3 million must be paid. He added at the end that according to the new chastity and hijab law, in five cases, the police can arrest individuals: semi-naked people, organized individuals or those connected to opposing and foreign currents, people who resist and confront warnings, and foreigners who do not have acceptable documents with them. For foreign individuals, we have considered expulsion.
