Baghaei has not yet made a decision on participating in the Islamabad talks
The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry announced that Tehran has not yet reached a conclusion about participating in potential negotiations with the United States in Islamabad and considered the final decision dependent on the process and outcome of the talks.
Ismail Baghaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, once again emphasized that the Islamic Republic has not yet made a decision about participating in negotiations with the United States in Islamabad.
In an interview with News Network, he pointed out the ceasefire situation and what was described as its violation by the United States, saying that the main issue is not just the presence or absence in the talks but the nature and outcome of them that matters.
Baghaei clarified that if the negotiations become result-oriented, Iran will decide on participation, but at the same time, he stressed that currently no final decision has been made in this regard and the developments need to be reviewed.
In another part of this interview, the seizure of the Tiffany oil tanker was also confirmed, an action previously announced by the U.S. military and accompanied by media-released video.
These statements are made in a situation where the diplomatic atmosphere surrounding the possibility of resuming talks between Tehran and Washington remains in an uncertain state.
