Bashar Assad Must End the Production of Chemical Weapons

Bashar al-Assad must end the production of chemical weapons.

August 21 marks the anniversary of the catastrophic chemical attack by Bashar al-Assad’s forces on the people of Ghouta near Damascus. This disastrous attack resulted in the death of 1,400 Syrians, a significant number of whom were children. Western officials, in commemoration of the anniversary of this incident, have once again called on Bashar al-Assad to destroy his chemical weapons arsenal and to cease all activities related to the production of chemical weapons.
