Bashar al-Assad’s support for Russia in a meeting with Putin
According to the official Syrian news agency SANA, Vladimir Putin, in a meeting with Bashar al-Assad, stated that the relations between the two countries are expanding in various fields, including trade exchanges, and announced Russia’s readiness to assist the Syrian earthquake victims.
Based on this report, the Syrian President specifically thanked the Russian Ministry of Defense and the army for their assistance to the earthquake victims and stated that international developments have brought the two countries closer.
While expressing gratitude for Russia’s commitment to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, he said that Syria has expressed its support for Russia in its fight against the Nazis backed by the West since the beginning of the Ukraine war.
The Russian news agency Sputnik has written that Vladimir Putin, in a meeting with Bashar al-Assad, emphasized that Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are Russia’s top priority.
