Behind the scenes of temporary marriages starting from 400 thousand Tomans per hour
The manager of a matchmaking channel was a 15-year-old boy
For some time now, fraud under the guise of matchmaking channels and websites has become their trick, and when victims go along with them, not only is there no sign of a spouse, but their account also gets emptied. The criminals are sometimes teenagers who spread this trap just to cover their leisure and entertainment expenses.
43-year-old Meysam is one of the victims of these criminals. He says, “A while ago, out of boredom, I joined a temporary marriage channel. After selecting the individuals I was interested in, I messaged the channel admin, who claimed that I had to pay 100 thousand Tomans to talk to each of the women. I transferred 400 thousand Tomans to his account to be able to talk to the four women I had chosen to assess their situation.”
The young man gave me four Instagram accounts, and I started talking to them. I reached an agreement with one of them, who claimed that I had to transfer the money before meeting, so I transferred 25 million Tomans to her account, but two days later, I was blocked.
Meanwhile, there are dozens of groups and channels on Telegram and Instagram where individuals, by charging small amounts as an introduction fee, entice people to transfer money. However, after the payment, they no longer respond and, by blocking the person, easily commit fraud. The individual, because the amount is small and out of fear of losing face, refrains from filing a complaint.
One of the large Telegram channels active in the field of temporary marriage claims to introduce you to individuals from various cities with whom you can have a temporary marriage for a few hours to several years. In the published information for women, different amounts are listed, from 400 thousand Tomans per hour to 15 million Tomans overnight. To get acquainted, you must first transfer 300 thousand Tomans to the admin, and after that, you will not receive any more responses from them.
Colonel Ali Mohammad Rajabi said that no matchmaking or friendship apps have licenses in our country, and mainly those who produce such apps or are active in the virtual space with these titles have malicious and fraudulent intentions.
