Beijing: Lift sanctions on Chinese companies due to ties with Iran

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce on Thursday condemned the U.S. sanctions against Chinese companies and individuals related to Iran and called for their immediate removal.

A spokesperson for the ministry said that Washington’s unilateral sanctions disrupt normal commercial exchanges and jeopardize energy security and global supply stability. He emphasized that Beijing will defend the rights and interests of its companies and citizens.

This reaction came after U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant’s request for countries to cut ties with Iran. Russia also rejected this request and emphasized maintaining and expanding relations with its partners.
