Beijing's Reaction to Biden Calling Xi Jinping a Dictator: These Remarks Are Irresponsible

Beijing’s reaction to Biden calling Xi Jinping a dictator: These remarks are irresponsible.

After U.S. President Joe Biden described his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping as a dictator for the second time, China’s Foreign Ministry deemed these remarks irresponsible, and the U.S. Secretary of State provided an explanation on the matter.

On Wednesday, during a press conference following his meeting with the Chinese President, Mr. Biden responded to a question by saying he still hasn’t changed his opinion about him and considers Xi a dictator.

The leaders of the world’s two largest economies met on Wednesday for the first time in a year to discuss reducing tensions between the two global superpowers on various issues, including armed conflicts, artificial intelligence, and drug trafficking.

This is not the first time Biden has called Xi a dictator. In July this year, the U.S. President referred to the Chinese President as a dictator during a special fundraising event in California, a day after Antony Blinken returned from Beijing.
