Biden extended the national emergency order regarding Iran

Joe Biden, the President of the United States, extended the national emergency order concerning the Islamic Republic for another year. According to a White House statement, Iran’s actions continue to pose a threat to the national security of the United States.

On Friday, March 10th, equivalent to Esfand 19th in local time, the White House announced in a statement the extension of the national emergency order by President Joe Biden from March 15, 2023, for another year.

The White House statement mentioned that on March 15, 1995, the President issued Executive Order No. 12957 to address the unusual and extraordinary threat posed by the Islamic Republic to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States.

On May 6, 1995, with the issuance of Executive Order 12959, extensive sanctions against Iran were imposed to counter these threats.
