Biden thanked Qatar, Oman, Switzerland, and South Korea
Joe Biden, the President of the United States, thanked the leaders of four countries just minutes after the release of Siamak Namazi, Morad Tahbaz, Emad Shargi, and two other Americans who wish to remain unnamed.
In a statement released by the White House, it was noted, ‘I extend special thanks to Switzerland, South Korea, Qatar, and Oman for helping facilitate this agreement through several months of challenging diplomacy.’
Antony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State, also expressed his delight on X (formerly Twitter) about the release of the dual-national prisoners, writing, ‘Emad Shargi, Siamak Namazi, Morad Tahbaz, and two other American citizens have left Iran after enduring unspeakable injustice and have returned home. We have no higher priority than bringing back Americans who have been unjustly detained.’
