US Secretary of State Blinken has postponed his trip to the Middle East.

Axios news outlet reported on Wednesday, August 14, on the eve of planned talks on a Gaza ceasefire this week, that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has postponed his trip to the Middle East.

Axios, citing two anonymous sources, said that the senior American diplomat’s trip has been delayed due to unknown circumstances.

On Wednesday, Hamas fired two rockets towards Tel Aviv for the first time in months, while Israel also targeted Gaza with its airstrikes.

On Tuesday, US officials had said they expected the negotiations to continue on Friday as planned.
