Blinken: We are determined to disrupt Iran’s military program
On Thursday evening, April 20, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized in a statement that the United States is committed to decisively disrupting the military programs of the Islamic Republic and Iran’s weapons supply network.
Antony Blinken’s reference in this statement is to the new U.S. sanctions that the U.S. Treasury Department has imposed against an international network for procuring and sending drone and weapon-making equipment to the Islamic Republic.
This statement also recalled the destabilizing behaviors of Iran and China. On Wednesday, April 19, the U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions against an international network for procuring and sending drone and weapon-making equipment to Iran. These companies are mostly located in Iran, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and China.
According to evidence shown by Ukrainian officials, the Islamic Republic of Iran has sent drones to Russia. Ukraine has announced that its air force has so far shot down more than 500 Iranian drones.
