Borrell is Still Upset with Iran

Borrell is still upset with Iran

The European Union’s foreign policy chief, who attended the United Nations’ annual general assembly, gave an important interview on the sidelines of the meeting, in which his remarks about the JCPOA and Iran indicated his dissatisfaction with Iran’s positions.

He stated that Iran’s latest proposal was never presented to make an agreement or help it. He openly explained the negotiation process, saying that Iran and the US were pushed to cover the last 10 meters to reach the destination, but they did not achieve results.

Borrell also made interesting remarks about the possibility of meeting with the current president of Iran. Referring to his trip to Tehran, he said that Iranians made promises to him and negotiated in Doha and Vienna, but ultimately behaved this way. He said he doubts that meeting with Raisi would help change the situation.
