Borrell is still upset with Iran

Borrell is still displeased with Iran

The European Union’s foreign policy chief, who participated in the United Nations General Assembly’s annual meeting, had an important interview on the sidelines of this summit. His statements about the JCPOA and Iran in the interview indicate his dissatisfaction with Iran’s positions.

He stated that Iran’s latest proposal was never offered to make an agreement or assist in it. He explicitly explained the negotiation process, saying that Iran and the U.S. were pushed to cover the last 10 meters to reach their destination, but no results were achieved.

Borrell also made interesting remarks about the possibility of meeting with the current president of Iran. Referring to his trip to Tehran, he mentioned that the Iranians made promises to him, negotiated in Doha and Vienna, and ultimately acted in this manner. He said he doubts that meeting with Raisi would help change the situation.
