Borrell’s Request to the European Union to Sanction Ben-Gvir

Josep Borrell, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, described Itamar Ben-Gvir’s statements, the Israeli Minister of National Security, as incitement to war crimes.

Josep Borrell condemned the statements by Israeli ministers with far-right views about cutting humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

In a post on the social network X, Borrell wrote that in response to these statements, imposing sanctions should be a priority on the European Union’s agenda. He called on the Israeli government to distance itself from these controversial remarks. He also urged Israel to participate in good faith in negotiations facilitated by the United States, Qatar, and Egypt for an immediate ceasefire.
