Britain will use all tools to reopen the Strait of Hormuz
London announced a consensus of over 40 countries to revive shipping flow in this waterway
Yvette Cooper, the UK Foreign Secretary, stated that various countries around the world are determined to use all possible diplomatic, economic, and coordinated actions to reopen the Strait of Hormuz
She said that more than 40 countries have come together in an effort to restore shipping flow in this vital route
Cooper, referring to the consequences of this crisis, added that the disruption in the Strait of Hormuz has placed significant pressure on global supply chains and affected the price of energy, jet fuel, agricultural fertilizers, and living costs
The UK Foreign Secretary also emphasized that these efforts could include cooperation with the International Maritime Organization to assist ships trapped in the region
According to the United Nations, about 2,000 ships remain stranded in the Persian Gulf
