Call from the UN Fact-Finding Committee

The Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFMI), established by the UN Human Rights Council to investigate human rights violations during widespread protests, has issued a call inviting all individuals and groups to submit any information and documents they have regarding human rights violations in the recent nationwide protests.

In its call, the committee has requested information related to human rights violations, including those concerning women, children, and minorities. It is also seeking information on the following: the violent suppression of peaceful protests by security forces in the Islamic Republic of Iran, including allegations of arbitrary detention and imprisonment, sexual and gender-based violence, excessive use of force, torture, and other inhumane acts, enforced disappearances, as well as the deaths of hundreds of peaceful protesters and the arrest of thousands.
